Meeting people where they are and helping them become what God has created them to be.
“Rich & poor have this in common: The Lord is the Maker of them all.” – Proverbs 22:2
We guide our neighbors towards immediate and long-term solutions through relational and faith-based programs in a hope-filled environment. We want to empower people to have a stable future. Our volunteer program teams provide a listening ear and encouragement as they help individuals identify their choices and determine their next step.
Our Origin & Vision
The Neighborhood C.A.R.E. Center is a response to the invitation of the Holy Spirit for The Church to embed ourselves in the local community. John 1:14, “The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood.”
In 2014, a compassion ministry team from Grace Covenant Church interviewed community leaders and residents to identify practical programs that would lead to individual betterment and spiritual transformation. The Neighborhood C.A.R.E. Center began operating in November, 2016 and is now connecting those who want to help neighbors with those neighbors who want help improving their lives.
Hope – We believe true hope is found in a relationship with Jesus Christ and everyone can be transformed by God’s love and truth.
Relationships – We value diverse relationships and offer programs which foster personal interaction and learning from one another.
Trust – We continually create a safe-sharing environment that celebrates integrity, respect and authenticity.
Empowerment – We believe self-sufficiency is achievable, therefore, we will not short-circuit the process by doing for others what they can do for themselves.
Dignity – We believe every neighbor has God-given talents and abilities and is created to be a contributor.
Effectiveness – We believe the realities of our neighbors take precedence over organizational interests.
Team – We serve one another in humility recognizing that our words, actions and attitudes impact each other and our neighbors.
